Boca Raton
Boca Raton was a small farming town when Addison Mizner arrived during the 1920s land boom and became its town planner. The town took its current name in 1925, and Mizner's Cloister Inn opened in 1926, but his development company went bankrupt in 1927 and little of his plan was built. Boca grew later instead: Florida Atlantic University held its first classes here in 1964, and in August 1981 IBM introduced its personal computer from its Boca Raton factory. About 97,400 people live in the city today.
Old Floresta, where Mizner planned 29 houses in 1925, became the city's first historic district in 1990, and Pearl City, where the first home went up in 1915, became one in 2002. Most of Boca is newer: single-family homes from the 1960s on, gated golf communities, and condos along the beach and the Intracoastal. Where the dryer vents a short way through an outside wall, it's our $89 basic cleaning. Two-story homes with upstairs laundry, and roof vents, are priced before we start.
In large homes, the laundry room can sit far from an outside wall, and a vent that's too long for the dryer to push through on its own may have a booster fan partway along. Lint collects on a booster fan just as it does in the line, and if the fan stops, the dryer ends up pushing against it. If your home has one, tell us when you book, and we'll check that it comes on when the dryer runs.

How it works
We look inside the vent and show you what's there: lint, blockages or damage.
A standard vent is $89. Long run, booster fan or roof vent? You get the price first.
A rotary brush loosens lint from the dryer side and from the outside exit.
Loosened lint is pulled out with a vacuum, then we clean the lint trap.
We run the dryer and check the airflow and flap at the outside vent.
